Topic 9: Stress and Time Management


Stand UP’s “13 Reasons Why We Stand Up for Social and Emotional Health” for the #GreatGive17 is designed to connect within the community, become educated on social and emotional health topics, and provide resources for and support those struggling. This blog is to share information about the importance of Stress and Time Management.  

Stress is something that everybody experiences at least once in their lives. Ask any high school student, and they'll tell you about how much stress they experience in just a day. One way to manage and control stress is learning how to manage your time wisely. Women Making Waves makes a point to teach kids about time management early in life, so that when they are older, they have the tools that they need to handle whatever comes their way. “Stress and time management education is very important to me, because stress is something that everybody experiences, no matter who you are. If we can learn how to deal with stress and manage our time, things like school and work can become so much more enjoyable,” Senior member Lindsay Kehl says. Freshman member Lara Weiss says, “Learning how to cope with stress and anxiety is extremely important to me, because it has helped me so much with my school work and with maintaining healthy relationships.” The Great Give can help StandUp Foundation raise money to allow for more opportunities to teach students about stress and time management. The more opportunities we have to teach time management, the less stressed our kids have to be, and we can work to make school more enjoyable than stressful.
