Stand UP’s “13 Reasons Why We Stand Up for Social and Emotional Health” for the #GreatGive17 is designed to connect within the community, become educated on social and emotional health topics, and provide resources for and support those struggling. This blog is to share information about the importance of Leadership Education.
One of the most important things we do at StandUp foundation is educate the public on specific issues ranging from drug and alcohol abuse to friendship problems and team building. We are able to teach the public through a great deal of leadership. High school aged leaders educate younger kids about important issues that are a part of growing up. Sophomore member Trevor Honeycutt says, “I like StandUp foundation because it allows me to educate all sorts of people on topics like suicide and having healthy relationships.” It is important to have leaders who can educate the public on these sorts of topics, because if nobody talks about them, people may not know the information they need to prevent something bad from happening to themselves or someone they know. The Great Give will help give StandUp foundation what they need to spread awareness and education about these topics to as many people as possible.
