Life Changing Volunteer Opportunities!

Want to meet other like-minded teens, have fun while learning and expanding your leadership skills, and build a better college and career resume? Stand Up is hosting its annual four day three night leadership training from the evening of Friday June 1st through lunch Monday June 4th at the luxurious Wyndham Grand Jupiter at Harbourside Place

This amazing weekend kicks off at 4:00 on Friday with interactive activities and games which allow you to get to know current and new members as well as hear success stories from returning alumni. Through the weekend you will not only build rapport with other teen leaders, you will address topics relevant to your experiences, develop leadership skills for the future, and most of all have fun! Innovative workshops form leading experts will help you deal with anxiety and stress while better managing your time, understand social media and develop your personal brand, practice mindfulness in your daily life, maintain healthy relationships and promote emotional and physical health for yourself and others. We will also have alumni workshops on transitioning to college, bonding/teambuilding adventures and of course, the favorite of many, our Senior Oscars Party as we send off our incredible Seniors to the next journey of their lives!

This year we have two phenomenal international presenters traveling to us.

  • Kari Yuen, a leading Drug and Alcohol Prevention Specialist, travels the world with Hazelden/Betty Ford presenting on Drug and Alcohol Education. Kari has worked with youths in over 30 countries to develop a mindset of prevention and cultivate essential skills to keep healthy teens healthy. In addition to volunteering, Kari enjoys snowboarding, mountain biking and traveling.
  • Christopher Littlefield has committed his life to humanizing relationships and supporting people to authentically connect, communicate and see the good in the person across the table. He is an international speaker on self-awareness, recognition and resilience. You can check out his TED talk at TedxBeirut.

Graduates from our leadership weekend will practice the skills they learned as peer-to-peer mentors with children and teens with the Arc of Palm Beach County. The Arc of Palm Beach County hosts a variety of fun camp activities throughout the summerfor children and teens with developmental disabilities.  Stand Up Mentors can choose between three mentorship opportunities to be matched with great students who are looking to have fun, be accepted and want to learn.

Although it is not mandatory to commit to being a student leader all year long, training is a prerequisite. This is a great opportunity to improve and expand your leadership qualities, gear up for an incredible summer of fun and volunteering as well as get to know all our current members. It's a great intro to what we are so excited to do all year long!
