Meet Kari Yuen!
Stand UP Foundation is thrilled to announce that Kari Yuen will be joining us as our Camp Director this year. She has participated in a variety of our programming including summer camps, student/leader trainings, parent presentations and leading us at our Healthy Highs Conference in the fall of 2015. It is an honor to have someone with such a strong background in prevention, education, counseling and even with wildness programs joining us! Kari we welcome you with big warm open arms to sunny South Florida!
Kari Yuen has earned a Bachelor in Science in Psychology and a Masters in Art in School Counseling and is completing her second Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling. For over a decade, Kari has worked with youths struggling with addiction and other behavioral issues in wilderness therapy programs and is currently a Senior Prevention Specialist at FCD Prevention Works, a part of the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation. Kari has worked with youths in over 30 countries to develop a mindset of prevention and cultivate essential skills to keep healthy kids healthy. In addition to volunteering at a local jail, Kari enjoys teaching snowboarding in Colorado and in her free time mountain biking and traveling. She is very excited to bring her talents, enthusiasm and passions to South Florida for a summer no-one will forget!
Meet Bettina Harriman!
During Bettina’s workshops participants will gain more clarity about the things they love, expanding their imagination about what’s possible for life and becoming more comfortable with who they are in the world around them. The goal is for each person to leave with a new found confidence of how to channel what it is they are seeking to make it become a reality! Nothing is too big or small! If you are ready to have fun, dream big and live even bigger, than this workshop is for you!Bettina Harriman is a lover, laugher and a joy hunter who hopes to inspire that same love of life in others by her special blend of humor and creativity but mostly by encouraging others to be their biggest, baddest and most awesome selves by being exactly who they already really are.
She lives in New York City where she received her Masters in Fine Arts with a concentration in Poetry from Sarah Lawrence College in New York. She completed her Bachelors Degree between Loyola University and the University of Miami. She is currently a college professor turned passion coach. Bettina grew up in Miami, Florida and attended Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart and Lourdes Academy, both all girl schools. She loves sharing her experience, passion, and expertise with others--gained both personally and professionally!
