Leaving Behind Our Senior Legacy
Hi I am Cameron Hanna,
I Graduated two weeks ago from Benjamin High School and I will be attending and playing Lacrosse at Georgetown College in Kentucky. I have been a member of women making waves since the beginning. I began my freshman year of high school and it has been a very important part of my high school years. I went through a challenging time my freshman year in high school and Ashley and the members at Women Making Waves helped me through it.
I was diagnosed with a broken back at the start of my freshman year. I thought I was going to lose my opportunity to ever play lacrosse again. It was a difficult time, but the friendships and support of everyone here helped me to see things in a new way. As I recovered from my injury and learned a new position in my sport, I realized that I could still follow my dream, with a few adjustments. Instead of playing for a D1 school I set my sights on a smaller school and Georgetown found me. Being a college athlete has always been my goal and now I have that dream ahead of me.
It is my hope for this organization that the girls who become a part of it realize the importance of supporting each other. We all have challenges. They may be different than a back injury, but with support and being given the opportunity to believe in yourself and accomplish your goals,
All things are possible. My favorite bible verses are;
Luke 1:37 – With God nothing shall be impossible
Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the plans that I have for you declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you not to harm you and plans to give you hope and a future.
When I come back from college, I would like to see the organization continue doing the great work they are doing…., continue to bond as a family, and one quick word of advice, be sure to reply to all in the APP… something I wasn’t very good at doing :)
